New Powerhouse

Community Engagement

Expression of Interest: New Powerhouse Museum in Parramatta Community Reference Group

The new Powerhouse Museum Parramatta will set a new benchmark in cultural placemaking for Greater Sydney and for the first time, a State cultural institution will be located in Western Sydney.

The Powerhouse is inviting members of the community to work with us during the design and planning of the new Powerhouse through the establishment of a Community Reference Group.

The Community Reference group will represent a diverse range of local community organisations, the business community, schools, youth, cultural organisations, and/or neighboring residents who have an interest in the project. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Community Reference Group, please provide a written submission of up to 500 words that includes:

  • Why you have an interest in the new Powerhouse in Parramatta
  • How you will act as a conduit for project information with your community or local organisations
  • Any representative groups or bodies you are part of
  • Any relevant interests or associations you wish to declare (including links to Create NSW, Powerhouse or Infrastructure NSW).

Expressions of interest will be received by 4 March 2020. The Powerhouse will then select the most appropriate respondents, with a short interview undertaken if required, and thank all those who expressed an interest.
The first meeting will be held in March 2020 and selected members must be available to attend this meeting. In order to participate, you (or a representative from your organisation or community group) will be required to attend each meeting (to be held on a quarterly basis, or at key project milestones). The meeting location will be provided upon appointment.

This group is just one of the ways we will be engaging and consulting with the community during this process, and there will a range of other opportunities, including community information sessions. Please email or call us if you would like more information about these opportunities.
